We thank you for taking the time to explore our vacation home, known as “Coast Guard”, as you look for the perfect St. George Island vacation. As you will see from our Rental History, “Coast Guard” continues to be one of the most popular vacation homes on St. George Island so we recommend you make your reservations early. Highlights

Situated on one of the most elevated lots, “Coast Guard” provides panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico as seen in the photo above.  “Coast Guard” is located on the quiet eastern side of St. George Island and is configured for either small or large group vacations. We discourage it, but you have to work while you are here, wireless internet access is provided free of charge.

Two large covered and furnished decks overlook the private heated pool and the Gulf. “Coast Guard” offers one of the largest private pools on the island. Spacious open kitchen, dining area, living room on top floor with wonderful views of the Gulf of Mexico through three sets of sliding glass doors. Watch the kids playing in the pool from the comfort of either covered deck. There is a direct path from the pool to the beach which less than 100 yards away (upper right photo). Additionally there is a new boardwalk over the dunes for beach access about 200 feet to the right of the top right photo.

Living room/dining room/kitchen area is an open, spacious floor plan extending the entire width of the house on the top floor, with magnificent Gulf views and comfortable space. Area is tiled and opens to upper furnished deck. Large kitchen is completely furnished with dishes, pans, utensils, coffee maker, blender, toaster, etc. Enjoy the view of the Gulf while preparing your gourmet meal. Large dining room table seats 8 and kitchen bar seats 4. TV with a DVD/VCR player in living room.

Four master bedrooms, each with a private bath. Each bedroom has cable television and three bedrooms have VCRs. One bedroom and bath are on the top floor behind the open living area and the other three are on the lower level. Two lower level bedrooms open onto the lower covered deck for enjoying the views of the Gulf.  Beds include 1 King, 2 Queens, 2 twins and Queen sleeper sofa. Linens, high chair, and crib provided.

Gunite, heated, in-ground pool is 14'x28' and varies in depth from 3' to 5'. This is one of the larger private pools you will find on the island. Home adjoins pedway/bicycle path which runs 5 miles.

Activities and Attractions

Beautiful St. George Island is a natural playground located about 65 miles southeast of Panama City, 70 miles southwest of Tallahassee, and is part of the outer banks of Apalachicola Bay.  The beaches are rarely crowded.  There are many activities including swimming, boating, biking, water sports, world class fishing, bird and wildlife viewing.

There are paths running throughout the island offering a safe place for bicycling, skating, running or just walking.  Rentals available on the island include kayaks, boats, sailboats, bicycles, umbrellas and beach chairs. Guided boat tours of surrounding river and bay areas, as well as Little St. George are available.  Award winning St. George Island State Park takes up the entire eastern end of the island and offers hiking, kayaking and sunbathing in a pristine undisturbed beach setting. The Island and nearby Apalachicola offer old town charm, excellent restaurants serving world famous Apalachicola Oysters and fresh seafood, and plenty of specialty shops to explore.
